-- StockenBridge Breaks, the luxury specialist bridge holiday company
, has created an excellent-value trip for bridge players (from beginner to advanced) to enjoy in Tuscany next month (Saturday 17th to Saturday 24th May, 2014). Bookings for the May trip currently enjoy generous savings of between £440 pp and £465 pp, depending on the type of suite booked.
The trip will be repeated in the autumn, from 11th to 18th October (currently fully booked, so waiting list only).
Luxury boutique hotel Poggio Ai Santi, overlooking the sea with views to Elba and Corsica, offers comfort and relaxation, while the team at StockenBridge Breaks add a little mental stimulation to the mix; the week-long trip is a welcome escape from the humdrum and workaday at home, with a mix of pleasures to enjoy.Bridge and more:
There will be two sessions daily of bridge tuition, duplicate or supervised play, each lasting circa two hours, plus supervised bridge each evening after dinner. All bridge sessions are optional and open to all standards of play. Hosts Zeb and Claudia Stocken have many years’ experience of teaching and hosting bridge events, and the emphasis is firmly on a fun and friendly environment.
Says Claudia Stocken: “You can be certain of an instructive and enjoyable game, no matter what your standard, but this 7-night trip is about more than just
bridge. Try wine tasting nearby, relax in the swimming pool or the delightful gardens with sea views, explore the area on food or by car (drivers can be arranged) or perhaps enjoy a round of golf. The restaurant at Poggio Ai Santi creates delicious food in the best of slow food traditions, and its home-grown, seasonal food – and seafood – is alone worth the trip. Many of our guests make firm friends on our Bridge Breaks, as do we.”Included in the 7-night full-board holiday
are all bridge tuition, course notes and prizes, daily breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner (with half a bottle of good-quality wine per person), plus pre-dinner reception with sparkling wine and canapés every evening. A range of refreshments is available during bridge play. All accommodation is in air-conditioned suites with private facilities and internet access. Prices range from just £1,250 pp in May, saving £440 per person, to savings of up to £465 pp (single occupancy, Seaside Royal Suite). Flights are excluded; airlines flying to Pisa are BA, easyJet, Ryanair and Jet2. Transfers from Pisa can be arranged from €20 to €40 pp each way. Car hire at Pisa airport is bookable online.
