THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - April 14, 2014 - PRLog -- Volunteers are needed for Conejo Valley Days' Special Kids Day, Friday, May 9 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Kids with special needs will be able to enjoy the fun and excitement of the 58th annual Conejo Valley Days (CVD) with the help of volunteers who give one-on-one attention to each child.

Sponsored by Zonta Club of the Conejo Valley for over 30 years, Special Kids Day brings more than 200 kids and an equal number of volunteers to the CVD site (23 Freeway at Janss Rd. exit). Kids go on rides, play games and enjoy a hamburger lunch provided by the Thousand Oaks Elks Lodge. The event is not open to the public and is by invitation only.

The kids range in age from preschool through fifth grade and all are from the Conejo Valley Unified School District. Zonta Club arranges for buses to transport the children to and from schools to CVD.

"Without volunteers, Special Kids Day could not take place," says Mary Lou Miller, Zonta's Special Kids Day coordinator. "We know it is a big commitment to take time off from work and school to volunteer. We are very thankful to all who give of their time. It’s a wonderful experience for all who participate—kids and volunteers alike."

Volunteers must be 16 years or older. Individuals, groups and businesses can also help by making a donation to help offset costs.

To sign up to volunteer or to donate, contact Miller at 805-492-5779, email skd@zontacv.org or go to http://zontacv.org/. For more information about Conejo Valley Days, go to www.conejovalleydays.us.
