James Burns, Founder of Display Development
April 14, 2014
-- Display Development is pleased to announce that its founder and President, James Burns, will be a presenter on April 15 at the 2014 Creativity Conference, at Genesee Community College in Batavia, NY.
Burns, a patent holder, product designer, and consultant, will seek to enlighten attendees in his session, “Innovation and the Start-Up,” by providing a candid look at the journey he took in building his video business in the custom home-theater market, and how creative thinking led to new avenues of growth for this Batavia-based company.
“I'm proud to be included with respected community members in this inaugural event,” said Burns. “My goal for the session is to provide attendees with a real-world business perspective. Our company has found creative ways to grow and provide more jobs for people in the area; I want to share the story of our success, and hopefully inspire others to take a risk.”
In 2009, when Burns founded Display Development, he was working out of his garage. Today he has nine employees, and recently expanded into an 8,000-square-
foot facility in Batavia, further investing in his community. The company provides luxury, custom-engineered home-theater projection systems ranging from $7,000 to $1,000,000, for high-profile clientele such as Hollywood A-listers, business moguls, foreign dignitaries, and professional athletes. Display Development first established a customer base in the US, and now reaches South America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East as it continues to build its global presence as a leader in high-performance home-theater projection systems.
The Creativity Conference coincides with Creativity and Innovation Week, April 15-21. For more information, visit: http://www.genesee.edu/events/creativity-conference/
