Fallon Ambulance opens new Ashland location; will serve as hub for company’s expansion into Metro West region

QUINCY and ASHLAND, MA, ISSUED April 11, 2014…Fallon Ambulance Service (www.fallonambulance.com), the region’s largest independently owned ambulance service provider, is opening a new location in the Town of Ashland, company officials announced today.

Fallon Ambulance Service was recently awarded a major contract in the Metropolitan West region of Boston. The 90-year old privately held family business has been selected as the EMS provider for the MetroWest Medical Center including its two hospitals: Framingham Union Hospital, at 115 Lincoln Street; and Leonard Memorial Hospital, 67 Union Street, Natick.

MetroWest Medical Center is the largest community healthcare system between Worcester and Boston, and this contract will represent approximately 6000 annual transports for Fallon Ambulance Service.

As a result of this new contract, Fallon will increase its Metro West presence from one location to two. Presently, Fallon maintains a location at 55 Rumford Avenue, Waltham. As the company integrates the MetroWest Medical Center contract into its workflow, the company will open a second Metro West location at 250 Eliot Street. The 7,500 square foot Ashland location will serve as the central hub for Fallon’s Metro West expansion; the company will garage 6-8 vehicles at the Ashland location.

The company has hired 30 new personnel to assist with the expansion and has named three additional supervisors for the region.  The company plans a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its new location later in the spring.
