New Shopping Channel Televises Handmade Merchandise

DETROIT - April 12, 2014 - PRLog -- Pre-launch registration has already begun for the Handmade Shopping Channel, a television shopping network that will broadcast handmade goods for viewers to purchase in the vein of the “Home Shopping Network.” Makers and purveyors of handmade goods, normally constrained to selling their products on sites like Etsy and Artfire, are rushing to take advantage of the boost in business that television exposure can offer.

HMCTV will offer a familiar format for the rapidly-growing handmade goods industry. Live hosts will offer up sellers' products in numerous categories from jewelry to chainmaille armor, and the viewing audience can purchase the items right from their sofa (as with websites where merchants sell their handmade goods, the sellers will be responsible for fulfillment.) The network will also feature live and remote guest appearances by artists who will demonstrate their trade or promote their wares. Likewise, viewers can call in and speak with the hosts. The network will also conduct special themed time slots during which a specific type or style of product is featured.

On the eve of their premier, the Handmade Shopping Channel is offering a promotion wherein sellers can preregister and earn free listings by referring other sellers to sign up. Sellers must be based in the United States, Canada or United Kingdom and must currently operate their own website or a shop on a non-reseller handmade goods site such as Etsy, Artfire, Craftori, HipSwap or HAFshop.

This unique television station is based out of Detroit, Michigan and will be available to viewers in the United States, Canada and UK. At the time of this writing, they boast about 16 million subscribers, although this number is changing rapidly as the station gears up to launch.
