ACTE launch range of cellular antennas to comply with vandal and waterproof industrial ratings

BASINGSTOKE, U.K. - April 7, 2014 - PRLog -- Meeting the IK09 vandal proof and IP69K intensive wash down rating, both standards are international numeric classifications, ensuring a standard of protection against external mechanical impacts and watertightness of containers. The new range, built with toughened ABS, anti tamper and twist through hole mount and improved waterproofing, comprise 4 versions offering Cellular, 2.4GHz, 5.1-5.9GHz and GNSS/GPS options.

The 2J66, 2J65, 2J47 and 2J86 ranges from 2J Antennas and distributed throughout Europe by ACTE are amongst the first to meet these demanding requirements. The IK09 classification is subject to dropping a 5KG object from a 20cm height onto an antenna.

The IP69K waterproof test of the antenna is according to DIN 40050. During tests the antenna is subjected to:

·         14-16 litres water per minute

·         Hot water 80˚C

·         Water pressure of 8000/1000kPa

·         Cycle of 30 seconds

·         Water jet test performed from all directions.

Building antennas to meet the demanding test specification was initially developed for applications fitted with Machine to Machine (M2M) and IoT telemetry equipment, subject to demanding cleanliness and industrial environments. Installations including; food plants, medical equipment, roadside utility boxes and cabinets, watertight containers and trucks are all typical examples expected to see benefits.
