IRVING, Texas - April 7, 2014 - PRLog -- The cliché, 'Don't mess with Texas' sounds arrogant. However, the artists Dallas tends to show some confidence that portrays pride in the quality of their work. There is that aristocratic shrug to suggest that the initiated will always appreciate the value of item. Dallas art is richly engrossing in the way that it exposes the wealth, inspirations, and colors of Texas. Commonly, you will find the American bold, the truth of nature, and superior communication skills in Dallas Art. Melodee Martin Ramirez takes into the depths of Texas as she explains her understanding of what nature presents to her in routine of walking or kayaking the trails of Texas. Her stories are absorbing as she outlines the intersection of love, life, and mortality always held in balance by time. She tells them through her paintings with the tutored skills of a wife, mother, grandmother, and art professor - irresistible.

Ramirez's current exhibit on display at the Main Gallery of North Lake College, Irving, Texas is titled Tales from the Trail: Places I love to be in Texas until April 14th, 2014. The exhibition closes at 10 am on April 14th. This collection of landscape oil-on-canvas paintings by Ramirez tell us stories about treasures and colors of Texas. Ramirez creates layers that lead the eyes to the focal point of her paintings through a hierarchy of contour lines, organic shapes and colors where begins the story. Therefore, as the viewer unravels the layers, one gets absorbed into the environment that Ramirez found herself as she pondered the mysteries that nature presents. The painting, In the Time of the Moon 3 for example, the eyes of the crocodiles are almost diminutive; yet, they are prominent reflectors of the rising sun requiring one to spend time admiring the wider environment and colors of a Texas swamp.

Every scene presented by Ramirez is to scale. There is symmetry, there is balance in the composition and subjects; yet, the variety in colors produces a unity only a delicate character like Ramirez can weld together. She shows her mastery of the oil technique reminiscent of Renaissance era paintings. Her manipulations of the oil show she is introducing her own original recipes into these techniques. Magical looks like a simple regular evening one may come across in the woods, except that the deer never trusts man enough to stay so close for long enough for a canvas painting. She layers the oil in a manner that reflects the expression of the sun as it illuminates a scene, and how living organisms respond to various times of the day or season. The colors capture the interplay of illumination of a hot sun finally giving way in the background as the deer posed for their 'love stroll' celebrity photograph. The unity of the scene is spiritual in its magnificence.

Ramirez is a graduate of University of North Texas, and Masters in Arts degrees from Texas Woman's University and a Master of Fine Arts degree from The University of Dallas specializing studio art, ceramics and painting. Her exhibitions continue to attract the attention of famous galleries. Her works grace the walls of very respectable art connoisseurs and corporate boardrooms. Ramirez enjoys the patronage of major foundations such as The A.H. Belo Corporation Foundation, Dallas, Texas, The Lexus Corporation, Texas, and Communities Foundation of Texas, funded by The Bill and Melissa Gates Foundation, Dallas, Texas. Ramirez holds George Inness called "the father of American landscape painting," and JMW Turner commonly called "The painter of light" in the highest esteem. Inness exemplified an original and uniquely American style and typified the Tonalist movement. JMW Turner work is called the romantic preface to impressionism.

She explores Renaissance era symbolism of squares and circles to illustrate how time balances life in view of individual mortality in an eternal universe in the Eternal Series. Moondance is a series of paintings capturing the message of nature in the survival of animal species through love and emotion as Ramirez translates hormonal responses to the ticking of the biological clock. The sharp contrasts between the colors around the eyes and the breeding feathers of the egrets introduces the concept of identity unique to a specific pair of lovers separated by locations, who must meet in a specific season. Moondance expresses how the desperate lovers locate each other, develop a relationship, and consummate the love affair in response to nature. Such power of communication radiating from the experiences of Ramirez on the Trails of Texas practically motivates one to book the vacation to Texas.

It is a wonder how such a busy person finds time to compose such strong art. Ramirez admits that it takes a disciplined mind to create and keep schedules, but her studio offers the solace of a spiritual release of her passion for painting. Ramirez loves walking the Trails of Texas, and this gives her opportunity to see nature up close and to study her environment. However, the depth of her understanding reveals an astute mind able to translate the meaning of rare observations that she captivates audience through her paintings. It is unbelievable that so many colors are available in the Texas climate. Ramirez pulls out the color that nature presents to life and presents them to you. Her artistic sensibilities are delicate, powerful, and sensuous suggesting spirituality to them. Ramirez says, "Understanding the meaning of life and death is one of the primary questions throughout the history of art. Through the years, my landscape paintings have often explored the idea of beauty and the temporal world."
