AAEM Resident & Student Assocation Announces 2014-2015 Board of Directors

MILWAUKEE - April 3, 2014 - PRLog -- The American Academy of Emergency Medicine Resident & Student Association (AAEM/RSA) announces the election results for the 2014-2015 AAEM/RSA board of directors and medical student council. Terms will take effect mid-May 2014, and run through May 2015.

AAEM/RSA announces that Meaghan Mercer, DO, was elected president, Victoria Weston, MD, was elected vice president, Edward Siegel, MD, was elected secretary-treasurer, and Nicole Battaglioli, MD, Mary Calderone, Michael Gottlieb, MD, Sean Kivlehan, MD, Amrita Lalvani, MD, and Andrew Philips, MD, were elected to one-year terms as at-large board members. Leana S. Wen, MD MSc, will continue on the board as immediate past president.

Dr. Mercer is a resident at University of Nevada, Las Vegas; Dr. Weston is a resident at Northwestern University; Dr. Siegel is a resident at Temple University Hospital; Dr. Battaglioli is a resident at York Hospital; Ms. Calderone will be a resident at University of Michigan; Dr. Gottlieb is a resident at Cook County Hospital; Dr. Kivlehan is a resident at University of California – San Francisco & San Francisco General Hospital; Dr. Lalvani is a resident at Temple University Hospital; Dr. Phillips is a resident at Stanford University Hospital; and Dr. Wen is a physician at George Washington University.

AAEM/RSA would also like to announce the results for the medical student council election. Michael Wilk was elected to serve as the AAEM/RSA medical student council president, a position which also serves on the AAEM/RSA board of directors. Faith Quenzer was elected vice president, Jennifer Stancati was elected Midwest regional representative, Joshua Horton was elected Northeast regional representative, Jaimie Huntly was elected South regional representative, and Melanie Pollack was elected West regional representative. Mark Tschirhart was elected as an ex officio international representative. These positions are all one-year terms.

Mr. Wilk is a student at Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine; Ms. Quenzer is a student at Western University of Health Services; Ms. Stancati is a student at Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine; Mr. Horton is a student at New York University School of Medicine; Ms. Huntly is a student at Medical College of Georgia; Ms. Pollack is a student at Western University of Health Sciences; and Mr. Tschirhart is a student at St. George’s University.
