Hong Kong Designers Association Global Design Awards 2013 Winners Exhibition held at popular malls
Biennial event offers opportunity to see some of the world’s most outstanding designs
Some of the most outstanding examples of design excellence will be on show at the "HKDA Global Design Awards 2013 Exhibition" held at Telford Plaza in Kowloon Bay and PopCorn in Tseung Kwan O from 24 March to 6 April 2014.
Each exhibit on show is drawn from winning entries which took Gold, Silver or Bronze awards, as well as the Judges Choice and Hong Kong Best prizes at the Hong Kong Designers Association Global Design Awards 2013 presentation ceremony which took place on Friday 21 March. These designs will touch your heart and inspire your thoughts.
The competition was fierce and the award programme attracted more than 2,000 entries from more than 40 destinations around the world. Fourteen renowned judges from mainland China, Australia, Spain, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Germany and Japan were impressed by the high standard of entries in the four main categories: Graphic, New Media, Product and Spatial. Key judging criteria included the quality and originality of the work, the usefulness of the design and the underlying concept.
HKDA Global Design Awards is not simply a design competition to honour design excellence, but also acts as an engine to energise a series of event (series of seminars, awards presentation ceremony, exhibitions etc.) as a year-long campaign that aims to promote Hong Kong Design to the world and enhance Hong Kong's image as one of the major creative hubs in Asia-Pacific.
This year marks the 38th anniversary of the prestigious awards and once again, the main sponsor is Create Hong Kong (CreateHK). The awards are also recognised by the International Council of Graphic Design Associations (Icograda), as well as supported by over 20 associations, organisations, media and institutions from various sectors. Designers from different parts of the world can leverage this interactive platform to showcase their design concepts and inspire each other.

For HKDA GDA2013, a roster of world-class judges was invited to evaluate over 2,000 entries from 40 destinations around the world. The resulting awards are guaranteed to ensure that this year's event makes its mark as a milestone in design history.
