Lucy Gomez of Crowne Plaza Hanalei SD Second VP with SC Society of Government Meeting Professionals

SAN DIEGO - April 2, 2014 - PRLog -- LUCY GOMEZ, SALES MANAGER AT CROWNE PLAZA HANALEI SAN DIEGO has been selected as the Interim Second Vice President of the Southern California Society of Government Meeting Professionals (SGMP) Chapter. She will serve until June 30, 2014 when a new board will be elected. Ms. Gomez is commended for quickly assuming this critical Second Vice President mid-term position after it was vacant for three months. By resurrecting the chapter newsletter and actively marketing the meetings to members, Ms. Gomez has brought much-needed visibility and renewed participation to the chapter. She plans to attend the national SGMP Education Conference in Portland, OR to represent chapter leadership as well as national hotel management company HMG Hotels.

Ms. Gomez is recognized as a resourceful and efficient chapter member who regularly brings innovative ideas to meetings. She is co-chair of the annual fundraiser and has developed a plan to improve the quality of educational programs for the coming year. Together with her dedicated board, she is working diligently to increase chapter membership numbers this year. Known for her integrity and professionalism by her peers and colleagues, she is encouraged to run for chapter elections 2014-2016.
