SIEM REAP, Cambodia - April 1, 2014 - PRLog -- An extraordinary range of hand crafted jewelry from recycled brass bullets combined with 92.5% silver has been meticulously and passionately designed by Saomao Social Enterprise owner Marie Hill and Ammo designer Madeline Green, to create this unique and elegant Bullet Brass Collection exclusively available at the Heritage Boutique. The collection will distinctively display two styles, traditional and contemporary. The Saomao design fuses past and present with neckpieces made from metal plates using recycled brass bullets, with soft hammered finishes and intricately hand-stamped Khmer patterns. The second part of the collection is from Ammo, a jewelry design company exhibiting a unique sense of femininity and modernity. Brass bullet creations are paired with 92.5% silver snake chains featuring delicately shaped brass circles to create a lace like effect, elegant and refined.

Saomao Social Enterprise is seeking sustainable solutions to long-term poverty. Marie Hill, founder and owner of the shop near the Old Market says, “We aim to give young, underprivileged Cambodians the opportunity to be trained in traditional and contemporary craft, to inspire them in transforming weapons of war into products of peace.” For the last two years, Ammo designer, Madeline Green has been working alongside Marie, exchanging skills and ideas and combining them with traditional techniques and tools such as foot-powered bellows, hand-made soldering torches and a crucible. Madeline has also been facilitating apprenticeships to two disadvantaged Cambodians, and says “it has been a dream come true to not only learn from talented Khmer crafts-persons, but to now share that with enthusiastic and bright young people, and see how they have developed highly technical and creative skills in such a short time, is wonderful.”

The Heritage Boutique features a selected number of designers, craftsmen, artisans and photographers who portrays a passion for Cambodian heritage, displaying unique and exclusive pieces of art. The boutique is open daily from 8am to 9pm. International shipping is available.
