UBS proud to be Headline Sponsor of the 4th Asian Awards

UBS announced today that it will be Headline Sponsor of The Asian Awards. Now in its fourth year, these awards honour high achievers from within the worldwide Asian community, and are the only pan-Asian, sector-wide awards ceremony in the world.

April 1, 2014 - PRLog -- Previous Asian Award recipients include the legendary Ravi Shankar, Sir Ben Kingsley, Professor Muhammad Yunus and singer Asha Bhosle. This year Ahmed Kathrada, one of Nelson Mandela’s closest friends and former Robben Island prisoner, will receive the Founders Award. Legendary actor and director Jackie Chan, Asia’s biggest star, will be honoured with the Fellowship Award. Billionaires Cyrus Poonawalla and Lui Che Woo are to be honoured as well, along with a host of other high achievers from the fields of business, sport, entertainment, popular arts and culture.

“At UBS, we like to think of ourselves as the bank for achievers,” said Gautam Kumar, Managing Director, Global South Asia. “We are acutely aware of the importance of visionary men and women to the economy and to society as a whole. It is from their ideas, dedication and determination that new innovations are born – and from innovation, of course, comes prosperity. For this reason we are proud to be the Headline Sponsor of the Asian Awards, which are a celebration of inspiration, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit, a spirit which we know is very much alive in the Asian community.”

The awards ceremony will be held at The Grosvenor House, Park Lane, London on 4 April 2014. Over 1,000 of the influential and important leaders from the Asian diaspora are expected to attend.
