Heart Transplant Patient Reinvents Her Life as an Artisan of Scattering Urns

OSWEGO, Ill. - April 1, 2014 - PRLog -- Mary Tuminello had a devastating illness - severe dilated cardiomyopathy. This disease ultimately led to a life-saving heart transplant at age 45. Using her second chance at life, she decided to nurture her talents and share them by creating one of a kind scattering and green burial urns for Artisurn (www.artisurn.com). She hopes that her elegant urn designs bring comfort and beauty to people at a difficult time in their lives.

Mary's scattering or green burial urns are made from a Kraft brown recycled paper tube with a friction-fit recycled paper cap. They are hand designed with a paper wraparound using non-toxic paints, which is affixed to the urn with non-toxic glue and sealer. The urns are biodegradable and safe for the environment. Her urns can be viewed at http://www.artisurn.com/collections/scattering-or-green-burial-urns.

Mary enjoys making something lovely out of virtually nothing , oftentimes incorporating discards, recycled and repurposed materials in her work. Mary hopes that her literal and figurative change-of-heart will enable her to share her joy of life and love through her artwork.
