New Cars Required To Have Rearview Cameras In The U.S

U.S lawmakers will require all new vehicles to come equipped with rear view cameras in an effort to reduce backup accidents.

BOSTON - March 31, 2014 - PRLog -- By 2014 auto manufacturers in the U.S will be required to equip new vehicles with a rear view back up camera by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Rearview cameras have made a frequent appearance in luxury vehicles and as an optional feature but will now become a required feature for all new vehicles. The NHTSA belives this feature will prevent deaths and injuries from backup accidents. Over 200 backover accidents occur yearly and most of these involve children. Experts estimate that rearview cameras will save between 59 and 69 fatalities anually. Rearview cameras will also make parking easier due to improved visibility.
