VPI Introduces the 3G-SDI Video Test Pattern Generator

AURORA, Ohio - March 31, 2014 - PRLog -- AURORA, OH: Video Products Inc (VPI) today announced the addition of the MONTEST-3GSDI 3G-SDI Video Test Pattern Generator to its popular line of Video Test Pattern Generators.

The 3G-SDI Video Test Pattern Generator is an advanced SDI pattern generator that is battery-powered, portable, and compact. It generates video test patterns at full broadcast quality for testing and calibrating a digital display. The unit supports audio testing at 1 KHz tone and maximum 148.5 MHz pixel frequency.

The MONTEST-3GSDI features eight video test patterns and seven timings up to HDTV 1080p. Use the unit to test and maintain studio equipment, such as monitors, cabling, and recording equipment. The SDI standard transfer signals are uncompressed and are self-synchronizing between the source (transmitter) and destination (receiver). Control the tester using the front panel control buttons.

The unit supports protocols SMPTE 424M, SMTPE 274M, SMPTE 296M, and ITU-R BT.601 with a bit rate of 2.97Gbps. The 75 Ohm BNC connector is compatible with any SD/HD/3G-SDI interface and supports cable lengths up to 16 feet (5 meters).

Powered by an AC adapter, the unit can run on an optional 9V alkaline non-rechargeable battery for up to six to eight hours. With compact dimensions of 3.66x5.71x1.30 inches, the 3G-SDI Video Test Pattern Generator is ideal for on-the-field testing.
