Houston Tx Production To Create A Comedy Of A Different Flavor, "The Pizza Joint"

HOUSTON - March 31, 2014 - PRLog -- Savir Productions announced it will produce the low budget independent comedy, The Pizza Joint, with Houston filmmaker William Leonardo Molina directing. Slated for a Summer/Fall 2014 shoot, the feature is staring Noel Gugliemi (“TRAINING DAY,” “FAST & FURIOUS,” “BATMAN BEGINS,” “BRUCE ALMIGHTY”), Anthony Guajardo (“THE WALKING DEAD SEASON 1”), Robert Lasardo (“THE PROFESSIONAL,” “DEATH RACE,” “WATERWORLD”), Franco Vega (“CSI:Miami,” “LAW & ORDER: LA,” “BORDERLINE COYOTES”), and YouTube sensation, Hip Hop artist, and actor Timothy DeLaGhetto. Future cast is slated to be added with local Houston actors in the mix.

  The Pizza Joint will be a new type of independent feature formula that leverages the faces and names of known movie actors with the built in fan base and visibility of YouTube public figures. This feature film is an attempt to pave another way that independent filmmakers can create content and revenue.

  The comedic style will be a mix of movies like "Clerks," "Friday," and "Waiting." The story is about Anthony and Thomas who run a small struggling pizza joint that has a deal with the most notorious pot dealer in town selling pizzas infused with their “specialty sauce“ in order to save the business. The pizzas are a huge hit, but when on pay day they discover that the $20k owed has been stolen, they're only given until midnight to pay up... or else. Anthony and Thomas, along with the band of misfit employees, embark on the impossible mission to raise the money before the sauce really hits the fan.
