Trevor Guthrie wins Canadian JUNO award for Dance Recording of the Year
Grammy nominated singer/songwriter Trevor Guthrie wins 2014 JUNO award with “This Is What It Feels Like”, a collaboration with leading EDM producer and multiplatinum artist Armin Van Buuren.
“This Is What It Feels Like” was written by Guthrie for his friend Robert Prem who was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor and notwithstanding survived for two and a half years despite being given 17 weeks to live.
Upon his JUNO win Guthrie said, "Robert was thrilled with the Grammy nomination and would have been so proud of this win, though it’s unfortunate that he isn’t here to see this. I wrote this song from the heart and it is amazing to see how it has moved everyone in Canada and around the world."
"This Is What It Feels Like" has been listed for over a year in 15 different charts including; US Singles Top 100, Dutch Top 40 and Canada Singles Top 100.
Born in Vancouver, Canada, Trevor Guthrie is an award winning singer/songwriter known for several platinum hit songs. Previous JUNO nominations include Best Single “Faded”, Best Group soulDecision and Best Album “No One Does It Better”. He has traveled the world performing as a solo artist and with his band touring with some of the biggest acts such as NSYNC and Destiny's Child.
On the heels of "This Is What It Feels Like" with van Buuren, Guthrie is collaborating with several producers and recording artists and developing his own material. One song fans may expect to hear later this year is near to his heart, as it celebrates the journey and lives of veterans.
Guthrie is also nominated for an I Heart Music Award and 5 Canadian Radio Music Awards.
