(WEEN) today announced THE WEEN ACADEMY
Auditions will take place Saturday, March 29, 2014
at 9:30 a.m. EST. In recognition of Women’s History Month, the auditions will convene at the Alain Locke School located at 21 West 111th
Street, New York, NY.

will be joined by a star studded line-up of WEEN Academy judges, including: award-winning recording artist and shoe designer Teyana Taylor,
shoe designer, celebrity stylist and star of Vh1’s Love and Hip Hop Emily B,
founder of Everything Girls Love, music manager and star of Vh1’s Love and Hip Hop Yandy Smith
, owner of Celebrity Sew Ins and star of Vh1’s Basketball Wives Tasha Marbury

and others.The WEEN Academy
is a 4-week crash course in the entertainment business led by WEEN Academy Director Latasha Kennedy and taught by leading celebrities and entertainment executives using The WEEN Academy curriculum developed by WEEN co-founders and Dr. Nsenga Burton. All applicants must be between 18 – 22 years of age and serious about starting a career in the entertainment business. Applicants must audition and compete before a WEEN panel of judges and only twenty young women will be accepted into the program. This program is completely free for those accepted and tuition is paid for by WEEN and it’s corporate partners.
Academy challenges include photo and video shoots, charitable projects as well as an intense educational curriculum in business development, talent management, event planning, and entertainment law, marketing and being an on-air talent. WEEN provides students with a hands on experience in the entertainment industry. Upon completion every student is provided an internship opportunity and partnered up with a WEEN mentor for 12 months.
