White water Serre Chevalier
MARSEILLE, France - March 27, 2014 - PRLog -- Serre-Chevalier, is one of the largest ski resorts in the Hautes Alps, as buzzing in the winter as it is in the summer. So far as skiing goes, there is nothing to add to Serre Chevalier ’s reputation! With more than 250 km  of pistes, a snow park, competition stadiums and an exceptional off-piste terrain, variety and quality... It’s all there.

In summer, the gates of the National Park of Ecrins open to provide a broad spread of itineraries for hikers and other disciples of woodland scenery and summits.

The mountain scenery in the summer and in particular at Serre Chevalier, is everything, with every activity, for everyone, everywhere and all the time!

On water, rafting and all white water sports are carried out on the river Guisane. Families, and paddle fanatics find every kind of difficulty in the contrasting sections of the river, for either sport white water rafting or relaxing.

In the air, paragliding, to see the panorama in 3D reality and at 360°, open to all over four years old and all summer long, is an essential activity during a stay in the valley. One of the ways to take in the heights, but not the only one…

In mid-air, we love the Via-Ferrata, for the vertical world, and the rock face ...for sure it's here on the mountain that one can win one's spurs. All levels of difficulty are available on the different routes... From the easy site of Bez to the testing climb of Aiguillette du Lauzet. On the summit the view is fixed on the peaks, the real ones...

In the ice desert, mountaineering is discovered, or rediscovered, because one forgets all the approach stages in the upper valley of the Romanche to reach the Aigle refuge (6 to 7 hour walk): that's worth all the gold in the world…

Go and see the expanses of the glaciers in Serre Chevalier, it’s like going to see the sand dunes as far as the eye can see in the Algerian desert ! Recommended by Matthieu Durand of Rafting-Expérience®.

Everyone can go and see the glaciers, the Meije cable car at Grave (a 45 minute drive from Serre Chevalier) whisks you from 1450 to 3600 metres above sea level into the mountain peaks. To descend from these altitudes, restore oxygen to our souls, and get back to terra firma, there is mountain biking…

On the ground mountain biking in the sense of going down gives some…. sensations. The slope, the curves make us imagine we are skiing. Whether it is the tricky 'singles' in the larch forests of the Col du Granon or on the ancient vehicle road of the Col du Galibier, with the entire valley before your eyes, mountain biking is inspired at Serre Chevalier. There are starting points for easy family hikes from the centre of all the villages at the bottom of the valley.  The Serre Chevalier bike park set up for the crazy bikers is accessible from the ski lift from Bletonnet to Chantemerle.

What else is there to say, everything is possible in Serre Chevalier, for everyone, all the time and a lifetime is not enough to do everything!  So, get a move on!
