LEES SUMMIT, Mo. - March 27, 2014 - PRLog -- Kansas City, MO - Ranking done by affordability, quality of college and NBA play, popularity of the university played for (because someone has to want to buy it), and availability of getting the jersey.  Couple stipulations to be on this list.

1.) Obviously, you had to be a great college basketball player.  Either by winning championships, being an All-American, inducted into the College Basketball Hall of Fame, etc..  2.) You had to be a good NBA player.  Win championships, make All-Star teams, contribute quality stats for a long time, make the Basketball Hall of Fame.  Sorry Bobby Hurley.  3.) Your autographed college basketball jersey actually had to exist at some point and available for sale to the public.  Sorry but we are not going to see a Wilt Chamberlain autographed Kansas jersey.

Also, see our Wish List and Never Gonna Happen list at the bottom.

OK, here we go.  Feel free to post your comments as to additions to the list or ones to take off.

#10 – Isiah Thomas, Indiana – 1981 NCAA Champion, #2 overall NBA draft pick by the Pistons, Pistons all-time leading scorer, 12 x NBA All-Star, 2 x NBA Champion, NBA Hall of Famer.

#9 – Allen Iverson, Georgetown – Everyone loved watching his crossover move, 1st team All American, and his points per game still rank #1 all-time at Georgetown.  11 x NBA All-Star, 2001 NBA MVP, #3 retired by the Philadelphia 76ers.  Fan favorite due to his small size and quickness.  His signed jerseys (http://www.powersautographs.com/allen-iverson-signed-geor...) are very popular.

#8 – Danny Manning, Kansas – One of the greatest players at one of college basketball’s greatest college basketball universities.  Manning lead KU to win the 1988 NCAA Championship, 1988 NCAA player of the Year, #1 overall draft pick by the Clippers, and a 2 x All-Star.  Why is Kansas basketball memorabilia so cool to collect? (http://www.powersautographs.com/blog/why-is-kansas-jayhaw...)

#7 – Bill Russell, San Francisco – Member of the College Basketball and NBA Hall of Fame.  2 x NCAA Champion, 11 x NBA Champion, 12 x All-Star.  Only reason low on list is USF (San Francisco) is not a popular basketball university and demand is low.

#6 – Patrick Ewing, Georgetown – 1984 NCAA Champion, 3 x All-American, 11 x NBA All-Star, NBA Hall of Fame, and #33 retired by the Knicks.  Georgetown autographed items (http://www.powersautographs.com/patrick-ewing-autographed...) are very popular among college basketball fans.

#5 – Christian Laettner, Duke – 2 x NCAA Champion, made one of college basketball’s greatest shots, a 3 pointer to beat Kentucky in the East Regional after a long pass from Grant Hill, 1992 Olympic Gold Medal, NBA All-Star, 13 year career.  Laettner is high on this list due to his unbelievably high popularity among college basketball fans and that he played for Duke, one of college basketball’s most popular programs.  Jerseys are very affordable, $169 (http://www.powersautographs.com/christian-laettner-signed-duke-basketball-jersey-ncaa-champs-p-100179063.html#.UukkabTnbIU).

#4 – Michael Jordan, North Carolina- Greatest player of all-time, 1982 NCAA Champion, #23 retired by UNC, 2 x All American 1st team, won 6 NBA titles and Finals MVP awards, NBA Hall of Fame, 14 x All Star.  Only thing that keeps him #4 on the list is high cost of jersey (over $1,000).

#3 – Lew Alcindor, UCLA – Also known as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.  3 x NCAA Champion, 3 x NCAA Player of the Year, #33 retired by UCLA, Lakers, and Bucks.  6 x NBA Champion, 19 x All-Star, NBA Hall of Famer.

#2 – Larry Bird, Indiana State – The Hick from French Lick, Bird lost the 1979 title game to Magic Johnson.  This is the highest rated college basketball game of all time.  Won Naismith Player of the Year before becoming the #6 overall draft pick by the Celtics.  12 x All Star, 3 x NBA Champion,  NBA Hall of Fame, #33 retired by the Celtics.  Jerseys are very affordable, often under $200 (http://www.powersautographs.com/larry-bird-signed-indiana-state-autographed-basketball-jersey-bird-hologram-p-100013680.html#.Uukh7rTnbIU).

#1 – Magic Johnson, Michigan State – Won the 1979 NCAA Championship, 1st team All-American, 5 x NBA Champion, 12 x NBA All-Star, NBA Hall of Fame.   Jerseys are often priced under $150 (http://www.powersautographs.com/magic-johnson-signed-michigan-statemsu-autographed-jersey-ssg-coa-p-99912974.html#.UukiZ7TnbIU).
