Cabaret Singer and Vocalist Mary Carrick Announces Release Date of Debut Album 'Let's Fly'
Rising cabaret singer and concert vocalist Mary Carrick is set to release her debut album, 'Let's Fly' on May 13, 2014. Her first release combines the American songbook with jazz, musical theater, folk and more.
A dynamic singer whose agile voice and evocative interpretation harnesses an impressive stylistic range, Carrick’s debut release centers around themes of wanting and yearning for what fills us, completes us and makes us feel alive. Interpreting songs by Leonard Cohen, Cole Porter, Joni Mitchell, Harold Arlen, Jason Robert Brown, Craig Carnelia, Hank Williams, Barry Manilow and more, Carrick takes listeners through stages of love, desire and life’s hills and valleys ‐ posing questions, weighing options and taking risks.
Let’s Fly will be available through CD Baby, Amazon.com and iTunes along with other online distributors, as well as through Carrick’s website, http://www.marycarrick.com.
J. Gawf, resident music director of Opera Omaha, serves as artistic producer and music director. Musicians include Gawf (piano), Eric Andries(jazz piano), Todd Brooks (piano), JB Ferguson (drums & percussion), Mark Haar (bass) and Kate Williams (accordion).
