Riskope's Ceo Franco Oboni set to speak at 2014 ISMB, Nagoya, Japan, April 3rd
ISBM is going to be an extremely interesting conference. We look forward to chairing a session and presenting our paper entitled “Aspects of Risk Tolerability, Manageable vs. Unmanageable Risks in Relation to Governance and Effective Leadership”
Franco has stated that: “I’m always happy to take part in this kind of event. At Riskope we are right on the leading edge of the modern use of quantitative risk assessment and management. It’s a great way for me to make decision makers aware of ORE, the up to date, mature risk management model which we, as a company, promote”.
The paper will address:
- How societies around the world have tolerated (or not) major accidents like Fukushima, Mont Blanc Tunnel and many dams failures. Overcoming societal tolerability generally results in outcry, boycotts and legal actions.
- How to clearly differentiate manageable vs. unmanageable risks from a corporate governance point of view. Unmanageable risks are those that require a strategic shift. Manageable risks can be dealt with tactical measures like, for example, recent 2013-2014 GM, Nissan, Toyota car recalls.
- How to enhance governance and leadership, transforming threats in competitive opportunities by having a clearer understanding of the risk landscape of a corporation.
