SEATTLE - March 25, 2014 - PRLog -- St. Vincent de Paul’s (SVdP) Centro Rendu program, in cooperation with Neighborcare Health and the Mexican Consulate, is sponsoring a Last Chance Sign Up for Health Insurance event on Sunday, March 30 at the SVdP Georgetown Food Bank from 12 Noon to 4 p.m. The Food Bank is located at 5972 Fourth Avenue South in Seattle.

The sponsors of the event are urging Latinos and others who have not enrolled to use this Sunday opportunity to sign up for health care insurance before the final sign up date of Monday, March 31, 2014.

The St. Vincent de Paul Centro Rendu program is an educational resource center providing needed services to the Latino community in South King County in Kent. The program celebrated its grand opening in October of 2013.

Under the Affordable Care Act you may qualify for free or low-cost coverage.  March 31st is the deadline to sign-up for healthcare coverage to avoid penalties for being uninsured.  If you already have health insurance through your employer or a private policy you do not need to take action; you will not be fined.

This event is sponsored by St. Vincent de Paul of Seattle|King County with Neighborcare Health, and the Mexican Consulate. Health insurance companies represented at this event include Molina Health Care, Community Health Plan of Washington and United Healthcare.

Neighborcare Health is the largest provider of primary medical and dental care in Seattle for low income and uninsured families and individuals. The agency has been serving the Seattle area for more than 40 years.

The St. Vincent de Paul mission is to organize groups of volunteers into neighborhood chapters to join together to offer person-to-person service to help people who are poor and trying to survive.  Details: 5972 Fourth Avenue South, Seattle, WA 981008; 12 Noon to 4 p.m. Bus routes to the event are 136, 137 and 174.
