Top Link Conference & Event Management will present the Process Safety Management Workshop – For Oil & Gas, Chemicals, Petrochemicals and Power Generation Workshop which will take place at International 5-Star Hotel, Kuala Lumpur on 19-23 May 2014 at 09h00. Featured speaker is Mr. Tony Kay, who is a highly qualified Senior Safety Consultant with an impressive track record in managing major projects in the process industries. The workshop has the objective of promoting effective Process Safety Management programmers within oil and gas, petrochemical, chemical and power generation companies.

The workshop will address process safety best practices, learning’s from process safety incidents as well as ways in which a company’s PSM systems can be enhanced. The importance of assessing the risk associated with changes to a plant and how such changes can be managed in a systematic way will be discussed, and useful tips will be imparted on how to maximize the effects of a company’s Management of Change (MOC) process.

A practical approach to process safety critical controls and important criteria that can be used to identify process safety critical equipment will also be focused on. A process safety tool that can be used for off-site consequence analysis, and that provides simple methods and reference tables for determining distance to endpoint for worse-case and alternative release scenarios, will be shared.

The workshop will end with an interactive session on the learning’s from a significant process safety incident.

Process Safety Management (PSM) is one of the foundations of Responsible Care. The major objective of process safety management of highly hazardous chemicals is to prevent fires, explosions and unwanted releases of such chemicals, specifically where it could expose employees and the public to serious hazards.  The Responsible Care Process Safety Workshops have the primary objective of promoting effective process safety management programmes within chemical companies.
