2015 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban Receive Official EPA Ratings
Both the 2015 Tahoe and Suburban, along with the 2015 GMC Yukon deliver better highway fuel economy with new 5.3L V8 engine.
For both the 2015 Suburban and Tahoe, the new all-aluminum V8 engine that produces 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque with two-wheel drive delivers 16 mpg city and 23 mpg highway fuel economy ratings. According to General Motors, those numbers indicate a 10% increase in highway fuel economy and a 7% increase in city fuel economy when compared to the previous engine. The 2014 models offered 15 mpg city and 21 mpg highway fuel economy ratings.
For the moment, these numbers represent best-in-class fuel economy for full-size SUVs. However, the EPA has not yet tested any of the Suburban or Tahoe competitors in the 2015 model year class.
