SHIP BOTTOM, N.J. - March 21, 2014 - PRLog -- During the March 20 Celebration of Tourism Luncheon held at the Golden Nugget, the New Jersey Travel Industry Association presented the 2014 NJ Tourism Excellence Awards, included amoung the recepients was the Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce's LBI Region Report Radio Show for a partnership and public relations award. Southern Ocean County Chamber DMO and Communications Director Lori Pepenella was on hand to recieve the award.  The presentation included award winners such as Meadowlands Chamber of Commerce, Wildwoods Convention Center, Atlantic City Alliance  and the Cape May  Lewes  Ferry. New Jersey Travel Industry Assoiciation President' Sharon Franz stated that the nominations were reviewed and the recpients selected by the Vermont, Rhode Island and Maryland state tourism offices.

The LBI Region Report is in its second season and airs weekly on WBNJ 91.9FM highlighting Southern Ocean County Chamber members on the air reaching over 26000 listeners is Ocean, Atlantic, Burlington, Camden and Philadelphia counties. The Southern Ocean County Chamber has won Tourism Award recognition in previous years for Chowderfest Weekend, the Website, The Wedding Road Show and LBITV Beyond the Beach Segments.  The 100 year old organization, has been recently accredited by DMAI Washington DC, a status reserved for those meeting the highest industry standards. In 2013, NJBiz rated the organization one of the top chambers of commerce in the state, panelists at League of Municpalities, and NJ Shore Cast. In addition to successful kick off meetings and Centennial Expo held earlier in the year, the Southern Ocean Chamber plans to celebrate its 100th Anniversary with a cocktail gala at Long Beach Island Foundation on May 15.
