DALLAS - March 21, 2014 - PRLog -- DALLAS, TX – The Second Annual Professional Women and Golf Day will kick off the North Texas LPGA Shootout, April 29, 2014.  The tournament will be held at Las Colinas Country Club May 01-04, 2014.  Dallas Golf has graciously donated 100 putters for the event.

Dallas Golf (www.dallasgolf.com) started as a club repair business in the back of the golf shop at Keeton Park in the Dallas area by Don Gafner.  After six months, he had 30 accounts and discovered there was a knack for consignment.  Balancing the repair business and retail business, Dallas Golf has become a full service golf store, selling new and gently used equipment.  Gafner credits service, true service as the key factor for the success of Dallas Golf, it has to be in your heart.   Giving back to the community is also key for Gafner.  He started a fund raising tournament, Dallas Academy Golf Invitational, associated with Dallas Academy and has raised over $100K.

More recently, Don has designed a set of clubs that is the perfect complement to the “Get Golf Ready” Program offered by the PGA of America for new & beginning golfers. “Get Golf Ready”, a PGA promoted program, is designed to give the new or beginning golfer the confidence and knowledge to join family, friends and co-workers on the golf course.  Set in the relaxed atmosphere of group instruction and taught by PGA & LPGA Professionals, students learn the basics of the game with a strong focus on breaking down the “intimidation factor” associated with the game.  Basic fundamentals of playing the game are covered as well as how to navigate the golf shop, practice areas and the golf course.  Sessions include time learning on the golf course to build comfort and confidence throughout the entire facility.  Get Golf Ready is available at public and private facilities across the United States.

Dallas Golf Don Gafner said “The “Teeing it Up for Success” event is purely GENIUS---where else do women get to follow the game of golf, engage in the growth of the game and have fun networking----hat’s off to the EWGA and the LPGA.”

Teeing Up for Success is the theme for 2014 Professional Women & Golf Day event and is the same name as the book, written and published by EWGA Foundation “Teeing Up for Success”, released January 2014.  Business women who have identified the benefit and enjoy playing golf or those who recognize they should play will enjoy an exciting experience together with influential women who desire to use golf to achieve business and life goals.

Make plans now to attend the Professional Women and Golf Day at Las Colinas Country Club (http://www.clubcorp.com/Clubs/Las-Colinas-Country-Club) for a fun-filled afternoon of networking, professional development and help raise awareness and funds for girls and women to learn and grow through the game of golf.  For more information visit: http://ntshootout.com/professional-women-golf-day,  Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/ProfessionalWomenandGolfDay), Twitter (https://twitter.com/ProWomenGolfDay)

“Professional Women & Golf Day combined with Get Golf Ready is a perfect fit to not only introduce new women into the game of golf but also deepen the attachment for those who already play” noted Chuck Higgins, PGA, PGA Player Development Regional Manager.  He continued by adding, “The exciting behind the scenes look at the North Texas LPGA Shootout, the opportunity to hear a great list of speakers while networking with other women professionals, plus the introduction to the innovative Get Golf Ready, makes for an afternoon any golf enthusiast won’t want to miss.”
