A Taste Of Theatre Gears Up For 2014 Festival
FEATURING THE GOD FATHER OF URBAN PLAYS SHELLY GARRETT. He will teach up and coming playwrights the business of theatre. An actor whom has been in Hollywood will perform readings with up and coming actors to give them pointers. In the evening theater goers will watch one scene of six different plays Friday and Saturday. The theater goer will vote as to which play they like the most. The playwright with the most votes will receive the Prestigious Shelly Garrett award.
The Theatre prides itself on operating under three basic principles:
1. We believe everyone can learn and shine in their area of interest.
2. We believe good playwrights deserve a place to showcase their talent.
3. Every opportunity should provide a win-win-win scenario for everyone.
“Our goal as a theatre company is to uplift theatre to diverse audiences through entertainment,”
Gulley is giving playwrights the opportunity to have their work showcased during the festival, where you will be given the opportunity to vote on your favorite submission. The play with the most votes will receive the Shelly Garrett Award at the event’s conclusion.
