Health Care Reform Conference by the Michigan Business and Professional Association April 1
The conference will present the following educational sessions:
· Affordable Care Act Update: DOL Audits are happening. Are you ready?With the increased budget in 2013, the Department of Labor has, and will continue to add more auditors, ramping up its enforcement efforts by increasing the number of ERISA compliance audits. Participants will learn about the different types of DOL audits and discover best practices to be prepared if an audit does occur. This session will be moderator by Bonnie Bochniak, VP of government relations for the MBPA and the panelists will include Joe Atchinson from BASIC and Larry Grudzien, attorney at law.
· Exchange Primer: Plan your tax year now, what you need to know.The implementation of the ACA can significantly affect your businesses responsibility to the IRS. This session will present what you need to know to protect the bottom line of a business and stay compliant. This will be moderated by Jennifer Werner, VP of insurance operations for the MBPA with speaker Marty Hill, director of Pricewaterhouse Coopers.
· Expert Town Hall: Today’s Experts Answer Your Questions—Bring health reform questions and let all of the day’s experts answer them. MBPA member questions along with live questions from the audience will be addressed. This discussion will be moderated by Carol Cain, WWJ-TV 62, Bonnie Bochniak, VP of government relations for the MBPA and Jennifer Werner, VP of Insurance Operations for the MBPA. Panelists will include Alisa Bennett, manager, health care reform team for BCBSM, Larry Grudzien, attorney at law, Joe Atchinson, BASIC and Marty Hill, director of Pricewaterhouse Coopers.
