Come Discover the History of Public Health

The Public Health Museum in Massachusetts: National Public Health Week, April 7th-April 12, 2014

TEWKSBURY, Mass. - March 20, 2014 - PRLog -- The Public Health Museum in Massachusetts is a non-profit educational and cultural museum. The Museum strives to preserve records and artifacts from our nation's public health history; educate the public about the achievements and contributions of public health; and inspire people to build upon the past and continue to advance the future of public health. Our Museum provides a space to explore public health, inspire future public health professionals, and foster community involvement.

This April, the Public Health Museum in Massachusetts, along with other communities, hospitals, colleges, and organizations, will partner with the American Public Health Association (APHA), to celebrate National Public Health Week. Established in 1995 by the APHA, National Public Health Week (NPHW) is a chance for the public health community to bring issues that are important to improving the public's health into a national spotlight.

On a daily basis people and their communities interact with the public health system. This year, National Public Health Week focuses on the relationship between public health and the daily lives of the public, with each business day of the week focusing on a different theme.

The Public Health Museum invites you to celebrate the week at the Museum. We will have special hours, a new tour, speakers, and other events for everyone to enjoy. Also, in the spirit of National Public Health Week, the Public Health Museum is offering a free museum membership with a paid admission to each visitor during that week. The membership will allow you free entry to the museum for the year, a vote at the Public Health Museum’s Annual Meeting, and a subscription to the Museum’s Seasonal Newsletter (a valid email will be needed).
