Auriga appoints Nigel Wilkinson as Lead Security Practitioner
Nigel has over 15 years experience developing and implementing Government and Industry best practice information assurance and security policy and controls. His specialist expertise lies within governance, accreditation, threat assessment and the management of complex risk portfolios; he has a proven track record in the development and delivery of general security policies, active threat and risk management including the implementation and management of risk treatment plans and frameworks.
Nigel joins Auriga having been Head of Security Practice and Company Security Controller for Regency IT Consulting/Cassidian CyberSecurity where he delivered cyber security and risk advisory services to the public and private sectors. Nigel joined Regency after 23 years in the Royal Air Force where he specialised in counter intelligence investigations and security and accreditation of front line ground and air systems. The latter part of his service career has included roles as IT Security Officer and Security Manager for the Air Warfare Centre, responsible for security and risk management of installations worldwide ranging from RESTRICTED through to highly sensitive operational intelligence systems.
Since leaving the Royal Air Force Nigel has delivered CLAS security and information assurance support to the MoD, NPIA (now central policing within the Home Office), IPSA and the MoJ where he spent two years as Accreditor for the Exchange Services Portfolio, including Secure Mail, Message Exchange and Video Conferencing.
Nigel is a CLAS consultant and BSI certified 27001 Lead Auditor, holds a MSc in Information Technology Security (with Distinction)
