OpTech celebrates 15 years of growth as staffing leader

The company was founded in 1999 as a contractor assisting corporate financial and tax departments with application development and process improvement, and launched its staffing business a year later. “At that time, General Motors was our first customer, and we’re proud that GM is still our customer today,” said OpTech founder and CEO Ronia Kruse, who credits her team of more than 200 employees for quadrupling its sales since 2008.

Over its 15-year history, OpTech has grown to serve federal and state government agencies, in addition to Fortune 500 clients. After opening its Washington, D.C. office in 2006, the company was awarded its first federal contract in 2007. In 2011, OpTech moved its headquarters from Detroit to Troy, Michigan, more than tripling its space to accommodate a growing workforce and to position itself for future growth. A year later, OpTech expanded its practices in the financial and engineering sectors. Also in 2012, OpTech opened its Denver, Colorado office, and that same year established its cyber security practice amid burgeoning demand for greater IT security measures.
