Jerusalem, Israel -  Shalom Shore is a 26 year old rabbi who trained in pastoral and family counseling and says “I have seem more results in one session than in three months of “conventional” therapy.” Incorporating God into the therapy and doing it while in a state of deep physical relaxation makes it particularly powerful. “I have seen individuals only met five minutes ago break down and cry about their childhood traumas."

The methodology behind Jewish Meditation Therapy involves several different elements, including Jewish mysticism and meditation, as well as more conventional Gestalt, Existential, and Internal Family Systems theories. A typical session lasts an hour and a half and begins with a discussion about the client’s life as well as Jewish philosophy. “Our underlying premise is that any negativity in one’s life is caused by a perceived absence of God,” says Shore. The facilitator then guides the client into a state of deep relaxation, which allows particularly vivid memories to surface and then be explored and processed. Rabbi Shore recently launched a website to share his thought on Jewish Meditation and personal growth, as well as reach a broader audience where he counsels people through Skype. Links:
