Follow on Google News | ![]() Simon Collins - son of Phil Collins - to perform in TorontoSinger- drummer Simon Collins will be in Toronto for the first time with his band, Sound of Contact. The event takes place at the Rockpile East on May 1st at 8:00 p.m.
By: Black Moon Entertainment Collins will be joined on stage by Matt Dorsey (bass), Randy Mc Stine (guitar), Bill Jenkins (keyboards) and Ronen Gordon (drums) . Simon Collins is no stranger to Canada. He was born in Vancouver, BC and was six when his father bought him his first drum kit. Thereafter, he was able to benefit from the advice of his father and that of Chester Thompson as he often followed Genesis on tour. He made his first appearance on stage at the early age of twelve playing the song “Easy lover” with his father. Between 1999 and 2008, Simon Collins produced four solo albums. The idea of forming a progressive rock group came to the artist in 2009, and in 2012 they began studio work for what would be Sound of Contact’s first album. A second album by the band is currently in preparation. Sound of Contact can be described as progressive rock music with very modern accents and a breath of fresh air for fans of this musical style. They are certainly part of the new wave of progressive music. Simon Collins personalized his artistic approach but the influence of his father remains present both in the tone of his voice and his style of drumming. VIP package tickets are also available for this event. This includes a meet and greet with the artist and show ticket. For tickets: www.ticketweb.ca www.therockpile.ca End
