Honda Releases Details on the 2014 Honda Civic Si Sedan and Coupe Trims

The 2014 Honda Civic Si offers some different styling and upgraded performance over the standard Civic. Si trims are available for both the coupe and sedan. Sales for the coupe start March 12 while the Si sedans will arrive March 26.

After the Honda Civic was first released, it quickly became a favorite of tuners. Tuners are people who take a car and upgrade it, usually to increase performance. The Civic’s affordability, reliability, and design has led it to be a popular choice for these kinds of drivers. Starting with the third generation Civic, Honda realized people were looking for more performance and started offering these Si models.

This year’s 2014 Honda Civic Si has only a small price increase of $275. The coupe models start at a still affordable $23,580 while the sedans start only a little more at $23,780. There’s also the option of adding a package with navigation and summer tires, increasing the price of the coupe to $25,280 and the sedan to $25,480.

The benefit of choosing one of these trims is upgraded styling and numerous performance tweaks. Featured in each model is a boost exhaust system that raises engine output from the 2.4L four-cylinder engine to 205 hp. There’s also an improved suspension system with better springs, a rear stabilizer bar, and new dampers.

This year’s Civic Si coupe has been restyled. It features bigger 18-inch wheels, new side mirrors, and lenses for the taillights. It also gets a special Si grille, wing spoiler, and rear air diffuser.

In addition to performance, each model features a number of features including a seven-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth connectivity and Pandora internet radio. These models also feature simple push-button start and Smart Entry.
