EXETER, U.K. - March 17, 2014 - PRLog -- What do you do when you’re a single mother of two energetic youngsters and there are never quite enough hours in the day? Well, if you’re anything like Jinx Jordan-Jones from the small village of Starcross in deepest Devon, you write a novel.

What’s more, it’s not the sort of novel one might expect to emanate from such a sleepy little parish in the Devon countryside. Fixers, the title of Jinx’s book, is a violent and dark novel about a shadowy agency who employ unassuming housewives like Meygana Westlake to act as highly trained assassins.

“This is a very unusual book to come from somebody like Jinx,” said Sarah Luddington, Mirador Publishing’s commissioning editor. “We were quite stunned to discover who was behind it. At first read one might assume it had been written by somebody with a military background, perhaps Special Forces.”

The book is indeed a step away from the pastoral surroundings in which it was created and certainly not for the faint hearted. The Fixers of the title are assassins who are the last resort of a society which has run out of options when dealing with violent criminals who believe they are untouchable.

Meygana is certainly a million miles from Jinx who spends most of her time trying to keep up with her two children rather than hunting down violent criminals.

“I've been writing for as long as I can remember,” said Jinx. “It was something I always wanted to do, if I didn't have my nose in a book I was writing one.”

With Fixers barely out of the starting blocks Jinx is already busy on her next book. “I’m now just finalising the book I was writing when the idea for Fixers jumped into my head,” continued Jinx.  “I put the first book on hold and fell into the world of Meygana Westlake, I liked where she took me, liked the idea of her and what she did, who she was.”

Fixers is published by Mirador Publishing and is available from all good bookshops and online stores as paperback and eBook in all major formats.
