Local Autism Non-Profit Hosts Free Autism Playdate Event

PHILADELPHIA - March 16, 2014 - PRLog -- PHILADELPHIA, PA (March 10, 2014) Jaden’s Voice, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting children with autism and their families, is presenting an “Autism Playdate,” event on Saturday, March 15, 2014 to kick off their 2014 campaign initiatives. The event will take place at the Academy of Natural Sciences located at 1900 Ben Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia from 5:30-8:30pm (Registration opens at 5pm). This event is free to everyone who registers. Children and their families will have access to the entire museum and dinner will be provided. The event is designed to engage families, professionals, and the community in autism awareness in a fun, exploratory environment. Members of The Philadelphia Soul dance team, Soulmates, as well as the Philadelphia Soul mascot, Soul Man, will also be in attendance.

Notable names expected to be in attendance at the Autism Playdate event are: Councilman Dennis O’Brien, Councilwoman Blondell Reynolds-Brown, Senator Vincent Hughes, Rep JP Miranda, Boardwalk Empire Actor Rege Lewis, Celebrity Fashion Stylist Anthony Henderson, Carvin Haggins, and Bria Marie as well as several others.

About Jaden’s Voice

Jaden’s Voicehas become a resource for families affected by autism. It was founded in 2010 by Terri Matthews after her son, Jaden, was diagnosed with the condition. The organization was established as a result of an unmet need—a deficiency of viable options to help struggling families dealing with the effects of autism. Jaden’s Voice is a welcoming community that works to provide services and resources that will enhance the lives of underserved children and their families who have been impacted by Autism. Through the provisions of innovative programs, autism education and support for families through school integration, therapy, recreational activities and advocacy, Jaden’s Voice creates a bridge for children, their families and the community.
