BALTIMORE - March 19, 2014 - PRLog -- MERDJ Media group alongside The AfroFuturist Affair presents: “From Niggas to Gods” a performance/art exhibition. Bridging Afro-Futurism elements that are based in music, art, and technology with philosophies written in the book, “From Niggas to Gods” this event will explore the transformative idea of discovering and identifying with one’s “God-self”. Held at the Art by Cleatress Studio, 1400 Warner Street in Baltimore MD, this creative celebration is designed to connect attendees to their personal Divine Source through music and art.  There will be a beat showcase from Moor Mother Goddess, performances from, Yo Slick,Eze Jackson, Greenspan, Voice, Jamal Loving aka Blaqstarr, Lotus Song & The Black Light Asylum and sounds by Shawn Smallwood. In addition to the performances, we will be featuring a large scale interactive art installation by BlackShesus and a bevy of original art by Cleatress.

Afro-Futurism enthusiasts are encouraged to come dressed as their God-self and others to come with an open mind with the intention of being inspired. Afro-Futurism is a contemporary art medium that connects Black Art to its past, present and future outside of the boundaries that have previously been prescribed. Some components of Afro-Futurism are: fantasy, technology, science, cultural traditions and other artistic gifts that are used to challenge the monolithic thinking of what it means to be Black, a Creative, or in this instance, God.
