Follow on Google News | Record Number Of Trophies Awarded At Santa Barbara International Orchid ShowToday marked the grand opening of the 69th Santa Barbara International Orchid Show. This year’s show has the distinction of having a record number of plant awards and trophies awarded during show judging which took place March 13, 2014.
The American Orchid Society and Cymbidium Society of America were among the national orchid societies judging plants entered at the Santa Barbara International Orchid Show. Plants are judged and awarded on a national basis. This year, more plants received awards from the national orchid societies than at any prior show. The Santa Barbara International Orchid Show is the longest running orchid show in the country and one of the largest botanical attractions in the West. The Santa Barbara International Orchid Show, which boosts over 35,000 square feet of orchids in the display and sales area, has become one of the many highlights and much-anticipated events in the Santa Barbara area. The show attracts thousands of people of all interests from all over the world.
