FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. - March 15, 2014 - PRLog -- Smith v. Physicians United Plan, Inc., et al., a lawsuit involving allegations of unpaid overtime wages and violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), has been filed as a collective action in federal court in Florida.  The Plaintiffs in this action, represented by Andrew Frisch of Morgan & Morgan, and Brian Pollock of FairLaw Firm, are Benefits Consultants (BCs) who claim that they did not receive proper overtime compensation for overtime hours worked.

Smith v. Physicians United Plan, Inc. (Case Number: 0:2014cv60531), was filed in the Southern District of Florida.  The presiding judge is Judge Robert N. Scola, Jr.

In this putative collective action lawsuit, the Benefits Consultants allege that Physicians United Plan (PUP) and Florida Marketing Organization (FMO) violated, and continue to violate, the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), by failing to properly compensate them for overtime hours worked.

Morgan and Morgan overtime attorney Andrew R. Frisch (http://www.overtimeadvocate.com), and Brian H. Pollock (http://www.fairlawattorney.com), an attorney at FairLaw Firm, are representing the Benefits Consultants in an effort to recover unpaid wages for the overtime work they performed, but for which they did not receive the proper overtime pay.  According to a federal law known as the FLSA, non-exempt employees are entitled to time-and-a-half pay for all hours worked over forty in a given workweek.

All unpaid overtime claims filed by Benefits Consultants who currently work for PUP and/or FMO, or who worked for Physicians United Plan and/or Florida Marketing Organization within the last three (3) years anywhere in Florida, and who were not paid proper overtime are eligible to join the case.  For more information about Smith v.
