FORT WORTH, Texas - March 14, 2014 - PRLog -- FORT WORTH, Texas – Attorney David Sloane, a former police lieutenant, appeared on Fox 4 DFW where he was interviewed on marijuana legalization in Texas. Attorney Sloane was on the program, speaking on behalf of the DFW Branch of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML).

Sloane was asked if what happened in Colorado had changed Texans’ attitude. Sloane pointed out how when you look at the poll data in Texas from January when Colorado went full legalization, roughly 40 to 42% of Texans didn’t want to see any changes in public policy, but now that number has drifted down to 23%, according to a University of Texas Tribune Poll.

The University of Texas Tribune Poll found that three out of four Texans favor legalizing marijuana. The findings further conclude:

·         Illegal in all cases – 23%

·         Medical use only – 28%

·         Legal for any purpose – 49%

Texans are looking to Colorado and wondering why legislatures aren’t doing the same in Texas. Colorado expects up to $100 million a year in revenue by legalizing marijuana. Sloane said that we’re getting noise out of Austin already, and he thinks that state will see some changes in the 2015 legislature.
