Bonita Springs, Florida- Join April O’Leary, author of Ride the Wave: Journey to Peaceful Living, and the staff of the Stillwater Spa for an evening of education, networking and relaxation.  April will be speaking about stress reduction and life balance on Thursday, March 20th during the 2nd of 3 Mind-Body-Spirit Wellness Events at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point.  The event is $20 and includes wine, appetizers, drum circle and wellness fair.  To register call the Hyatt at 239-390-4360.

The spring equinox, a time when the shines directly on the equator and the length of day and night is nearly equal, marks the beginning of spring on March 20th.  During this time year it’s most traditional to focus on spring cleaning like clearing out the clutter in your cupboards and closets but it is also a great time to re-focus on clearing out unwanted life clutter and chaos that is causing stress and create simplicity in a healthy life balance.

According to an American Psychological Association, American Institute of Stress, NY study released on July 28, 2013, 77% of Americans regularly experience physical symptoms caused by stress and 73% experience psychological symptoms.  Over 50% of those surveyed also stated that stress has caused them to fight with the people closest to them.  “Effective stress-management is a hugely important factor in overall life satisfaction, yet so many people have not been taught the skills they need to be able to deal with stress in a positive way,” says April O’Leary, Personal and Professional Coach.

Some of the most common stress-related symptoms are fatigue, headache, upset stomach, irritability, anger and nervousness.  Others include muscle tension, change in appetite, teeth grinding, lack of energy and feeling like crying.  “Our amazing staff at the Stillwater Spa has decided to take an active hands-on mind-body-spirit approach to helping our clients feel better in all areas of their lives.  This event is part of our mission to reach out and educate our community,” says Jennifer Licciardi, Spa Director.
