EWGA, Dallas Chapter announces the return of Second Annual Professional Women and Golf Day
An event was recently held at Brookhaven Country Club to kickoff this year’s events for the Dallas Chapter of EWGA, with nearly 100 business and professional women attending.
Mingling and getting to know each other was the first activity with EWGA Bingo. Participants searched the room for answers to fill the Bingo card, catch up and get to know guests and other members. Some of the items on the Bingo card included: knows where Empower ‘14 will be, who owns more than 6 pairs of golf shoes, started playing golf after age 30, made a hole in one in 2013, played in more than 3 countries, played the Lone Star Cup, played St Andrews, and many more. Everyone had fun filling the Bingo card and learning more about other attendees.
Brunch was served, followed by a motivational and inspiring speaker, Lee O’Connor. Lee regaled the group on Winning and Team Work. Sharing her personal experiences, relating them to experiences on and off the golf course, how to build true teams and during tournaments, how to engage your team members for the betterment of the team, Lee spoke on Trust, Commitment and Preparation. Winners of the auction items were announced, announcements were made and a good time was had by all.
Trish Musch, President, EWGA – Dallas Chapter says, “I joined the Dallas Chapter of EWGA to find women to play golf with. The added bonus of making so many new friends and expanding my professional contacts was something I did not expect but have enjoyed just as much as the golf.”
Also announced was the return of Professional Women and Golf Day, to be held April 29, 2014 as part of the LPGA North Texas Shootout May 01 – 04, 2014. “Teeing Up for Success" is the theme and has the same name as the book Teeing Up for Success, released January 2014 written and published by EWGA Foundation. Pam Swensen, EWGA CEO, will open the day followed by the keynote address from LPGA Chief Communications Officer, Kraig Kann. “We invite you to join us for Teeing Up for Success,” says Swensen. “The afternoon is filled with several compelling personalities sharing great insights, coupled with an ‘Inside the Ropes’ experience that will certainly be informative and memorable. It’s a wonderful opportunity to enjoy an afternoon away from the office with key business learnings.”
