Debut Author A.F. Melendez hopes first Crime Novel series will lead to Promising Career
A.F. Melendez, 29, has been compelled to write stories since he was a young child and has used it therapeutically to escape the difficulties he faces of being unable to be independent as a young adult with Asperger's syndrome.
Author A.F. Melendez hopes his debut novel The Thief Romero, the first in a planned series, will grow into a successful enough franchise so he can not only do what he loves for a living, but also become financially independent as his Asperger's makes finding and maintaining employment a difficulty.
His copy editor, Lauren Zapata, who proofread his novel says, "I'm so happy I helped with its progress. Truly an amazing writer!"
A.F. Melendez also writes a blog on his website http://www.theredundantme.com, where he expands on his life dealing with his 2013 discovery of his autism and the strain that comes with being unable to support himself. He has written the book's protagonist as a way to exorcise his frustrations of being unable to be independent, and that the novel helped him to live vicariously through his antihero who never has to worry about being unable to support himself.
