Public Notice by closer2patents – Patent Granted for Invention – Indian Patent No. 259222

March 14, 2014 - PRLog -- Our Client Mr. Aniruddha Rajendra Gupte is Inventor & Assignee for Patent in respect of ‘MULTI-PLATFORM MEDIA DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM’, in India under Patent No. 259222, filed on 07/06/2006, with a priority date of 10/06/2005 for the Patent.

Please note that any patent filed after the priority date covering the same or substantially similar invention, shall not have the priority on this invention and consequently shall not have any legal standing, under the provisions of Patents Act, 1970 of India.

The patent covers a novel system and method for presenting media content and associated media information to a user via an enhanced personal video recorder (e-PVR) computing device, the method comprising:

a. encrypting the media content by an encryption/decryption server prior to distribution to said user so that said media content is decrypted using a program key;

b. encrypting the program key using a local hardware identifier available on a first digital system and creating local decryption information that is used with the local hardware identifier to decrypt the encrypted program key;

c. storing the encrypted program key and decryption information in the media content by an encryption/decryption server or a storage device comprised in an e-PVR;

d. transferring said media content to a second digital system through a network when presentation of the media content is requested by said user;

e. decrypting said program key only when local hardware identifiers are the same on said first digital system and said second digital system;

f. segmenting the media content into sections and storing section delineation

information as section flags in media information by the e-PVR ;

g. storing additional information related to sections if available by a General purpose server, as section information, storing at least the section information as part of media information with media content in a media package;

h. transferring the media package to an e-PVR through a network interface and storing it as stored media package using a storage device on the e-PVR;

i. determining, by a processor, that a user has requested presentation of the media content and identifying the user to whom the media content is to be presented;

j. selecting a first section as a section, by a processor, that is to be presented;

k. using portions of e-PVR information including at least a user preferences/profile

related to the user, in conjunction with section information, to determine if the

section is to be presented, by a processor;

l. presenting the section using a presentation device if it is determined that the section is to be presented, by a processor;

m. identifying a next section that is to be presented using a presentation device;

n. repeating  the selecting, presenting, and identifying steps for the next section and each subsequent section of media content, by a processor;

o. determining, by a processor, that the last section has been presented  on the presentation device; and

p. ending of the presentation on the presentation device.

We hereby notify publicly and to whomsoever it may concern that in respect of the said patent and the invention covered in the patent, that any attempt whether successful or unsuccessful to copy, reproduce, use, recreate, import or practice the patented invention or any invention substantially similar to the patented invention, will be in contravention of law of India, and shall attract suitable legal action on Civil as well as Criminal grounds, including claims of compensation and injunctions.

End users are informed herein and notified that they must buy, subscribe or use any product or process related to the said invention, only with proper authorization from the Client.
