Decanter centrifuge used to separate solid out of mud-liquid fluids or separate two mixed fluids with different density.

When we use decanter centrifuge to do the solid-liquid separation firstly drilling fluid will flow into drum via high speed conveyor. Under drum and conveyor high speed solid particle will move to drum wall along radial direction while smaller particle and liquid will be inside.

There is a liquid circle between drum inner wall and conveyor outer wall we call it "sediment area/pool"

Drilling fluid after processed will flow out via overflow outlet on bigger end while conveyor will push sediment to dewater area until discharged out of slag tab

Actually, the low speed decanter centrifuge also called as "barite recycling centrifuge". Its separation factor is 500~700. The speed is 1600~1800rpm. The middle speed centrifuge separation point is 700~1200, its speed is 1800~2200rpm usually separate particles sized 5~7 microns. Will mainly get rid of harmful solid in drilling fluid also control density and viscosity. It is the very popular centrifuge presently and the separation factor will be controlled at 800

High speed centrifuge separation factor is 1200~2100 its speed is 2200rpm~3000rpm even higher. Separation point is 2~5microns mainly used to separate harmful solid in low density drilling fluid control drilling fluid viscosity.

Usually, high speed centrifuge will be used together with low speed centrifuge as a system. In this centrifuge system low speed centrifuge is 1st phase barite out of drilling fluid will flow into drilling mud the liquid discharged by it will flow into buffer tank then pump the fluid from butter tank to high speed centrifuge

High speed decanter centrifuge will dispose solid out of mud tank. Fluid come back to fluid circulation. This centrifuge system can get rid of harmful solids effectively and avoid wasting barite. It is highly popular with international well drilling users
