By: Voices Against Brain Cancer VABC has a clear mission not only in this half-marathon race, but also in the race to find a cure for brain cancer and brain tumors by advancing scientific research, increasing awareness within the medical community and supporting patients, their families and caregivers afflicted with this devastating disease. Patients and family members that are affected by brain cancer or brain tumors are running a marathon of their own every day by trying to stay one step ahead; always reaching for the finish line hoping a cure is at the end of the tape. Support the 2014 VIM Team for the Half-Marathon by donating, or just cheering them on during the Race! A half marathon will be my furthest distance run to date, but knowing that I have a parallel goal of supporting VABC will give me all the motivation I need to train for and finish the race.” If you have any questions or are interested in joining the 2014 NYC Marathon as a VIM team member, please contact Ashley Emrani at ashleyemrani@ Brain cancer in any form is under a race for a cure.
