BOCA RATON, Fla. - March 12, 2014 - PRLog -- Voices Against Brain Cancer (VABC) is running for a cause!  Seventeen charity runners are using their voices and legs by participating in the 2014 New York City Half-Marathon on March 16th!  These motivated individuals make up the 2014 -- Voices in Motion Team. With the help of their family, friends, and the VABC community, they are well on their way to reaching their fundraising goal & the finish line to find a cure for brain cancer.

VABC has a clear mission not only in this half-marathon race, but also in the race to find a cure for brain cancer and brain tumors by advancing scientific research, increasing awareness within the medical community and supporting patients, their families and caregivers afflicted with this devastating disease.

Patients and family members that are affected by brain cancer or brain tumors are running a marathon of their own every day by trying to stay one step ahead; always reaching for the finish line hoping a cure is at the end of the tape.

Support the 2014 VIM Team for the Half-Marathon by donating, or just cheering them on during the Race!  To find out more, check out the 2014 VIM Team (http://www.voicesinmotion.org/2014halfmarathon) page to see how their fundraising goals are coming, and while you’re there click on any of the team members in the roster to read about their individual stories and their support of VABC’s cause.

Voices in Motion team member, Michael Gluf says, “While not personally afflicted with the disease, through the lives of others close to me I have seen its devastating effects. A half marathon will be my furthest distance run to date, but knowing that I have a parallel goal of supporting VABC will give me all the motivation I need to train for and finish the race.”
