TEWKSBURY, Mass. - March 11, 2014 - PRLog -- The Public Health Museum in Massachusetts is a non-profit educational and cultural museum. The Museum strives to preserve records and artifacts from our nation's public health history; educate the public about the achievements and contributions of public health; and inspire people to build upon the past and continue to advance the future of public health. Our Museum provides a space to explore public health, inspire future public health professionals, and foster community involvement.

This summer the Public Health Museum in Massachusetts presents, “Outbreak! Public Health…Present, Past, and Future”, an invigorating and FREE program designed to introduce high school juniors and seniors to the history, presence, and importance of public health.

Students will learn about epidemiology, investigate a simulated disease outbreak, discover exciting public health careers, and much more. Two field trips have also been planned, one being to the Waterworks Museum in Boston, MA.

The program will be held July 28th - August 1st from 9am-1pm at the Public Health Museum in Tewksbury, Massachusetts or 10am-2pm at one of the field trip locations. There is no cost to attend this program and any current high school sophomore or junior can apply. Though transportation to and from the Museum needs to be arranged by the student and their family, it will be provided to and from field trip locations. Applications must be postmarked by April 11th and space is limited.
