WASHINGTON - March 10, 2014 - PRLog -- A delegation of the Urban Financial Services Coalition will meet in the US Congress, House of Representatives facilities in Washington, D.C. March 23-25, 2014 for the 4th Annual African
American Briefing for Financial Professionals.  The executive leaders of the organization will also attend the American Bankers Association’s Government Relations Summit.

U Street Heart and Soul Food Tour: The music scene in the U Street area consists of historic theaters, long standing jazz clubs, and hot new venues. We will take you through the corridor, sampling a variety of cuisine that follows the history of the neighborhood, from its humble roots, to its prominence to the African American community, to its rebirth and newfound eclectic diversity. The Food Tour may include the following specialties: Traditional Soul Food; Creole and Cajun Cuisine; European Inspired Dishes from a Neighborhood Speakeasy; Modern Low country cuisine; and Fresh-made style desserts.

Capitol Hill Briefing: Urban Financial Services Coalition has invited members of the Congressional Caucus and the House Committee on Financial Services to discuss key concerns in the financial services industry and their impact on communities of color.

Community Financial Inclusion Roundtable Discussion: Urban Financial Services Coalition has invited leaders of community groups to discuss the issues and challenges financially impacting the African American community from local, regional, and national perspectives.

Federal Reserve Bank Briefing: Urban Financial Services Coalition and Federal Reserve Bank leaders will participate in a briefing for African American Financial Professionals.

U.S. Capitol Tour:The U.S. Capitol is among the most architecturally impressive and symbolically important buildings in the world. The Senate and the House of Representatives have met here for more than two centuries. Once inside the historic Capitol, attendees will see the Crypt, the Rotunda, and National Statuary Hall. The historic National Statuary features a statue of Rosa Parks, the first African American women to have her likeness in the Hall.

White House Briefing: Urban Financial Services Coalition, White House Officials, and Obama Administration officials will participate in a briefing for African American Financial Professionals. The briefing will feature top African American financial professionals, who will participate in a discussion on how the Administration’s key issues of concern within the financial services industry and communities of color and how financial professionals can partner with the administration to make progress in the African American communities.  **White House Briefings may be subject to last minute cancellation**

White House Tour: The tour of the White House is one of America’s “must see” tours for every citizen. For people of African descent this tour has increased significance because the White House is occupied by the first African American president of the United States. This historic tour takes you through the rooms in the East Wing and the main White House Resident. Attendees will start their tour in the East Wing lobby; proceed to the East Colonnade as they go through the ground floor of the White House Residence; go upstairs to the State Rooms; and exit through the North Portico. **White House tours may be subject to last minute cancellation**
