Elizabeth Seton Pediatric Center Receives Highest Rating from U.S. News & World Report

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. - March 7, 2014 - PRLog -- Elizabeth Seton Pediatric Center has received the highest possible overall rating of five stars in U.S. News & World Report’s sixth annual “Best Nursing Homes” category.

The 2014 “Best Nursing Homes” ratings highlight the top nursing homes in each city and state, out of nearly 16,000 facilities nationwide. U.S. News’ goal is to help the millions of Americans who will spend time in a nursing home in 2014 find a home with a strong track record of good care. “Best Nursing Homes” draws on data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), a federal agency that assesses homes in three categories – health inspections, level of nurse staffing, and quality of care – and gives each an overall rating.

U.S. News awarded the “Best Nursing Homes” designation to homes that earned an overall rating of five stars from CMS in January 2014.

“We do not work for accolades; however, when we receive such recognition as a five star rating from U.S. News & World Report in so many critical categories of patient care, it does indeed feel gratifying that our work in support of our 137 children with extraordinary medical complexities is validated and recognized,” said Patricia Tursi, Chief Executive Officer of the Elizabeth Seton Pediatric Center. “The Pediatric Center’s mission to provide high quality and compassionate services to our residents forever puts us in the footsteps of our foundress, St. Elizabeth Seton, who devoted her life to serving children and their families. For her, and on behalf of our children, their families and our staff, we are thrilled to receive this designation,” Tursi said.
